Friends

It has been a few years since we have been back to Tinker AFB, Ok, City, Ok. Kris was sent out there for a weather radar school. Just another feather in his already big cap!

While we were there I was able to spend some time with a very dear friend that we met at a church several years ago. Her name is Terrie and we talk at least once a month on the phone. She took me to Logan's steak house for lunch one day and we had the best time laughing and crying over stories we shared about each others life. Having a good friend is hard to come by and if anyone knows me I am not the easiest person to have as a friend. However, true friends is something to treasure.

We normally see some familiar faces at the fam camp on base, I guess we are out of season for those who normally flow through the area. We did however, meet some really nice dogs and their owners were friendly as well.

A Simple Life Sytle

Kris and I are traveling from Tinker AFB in OK, City, OK to Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, AL. We left just in the nick of time. Today and tomorrow they will be having snow and ice.. Montgomery, Al is getting hammered with wind and rain and we did not want to fight the nasty weather. Since we have a few days to spare we decided to stake a claim in Tupelo for two days and enjoy the rest. It has been one beautiful day here, nice sunny skies and the temps are hovering in the low 70's. My kind of weather! I am sitting outside in my lawn chair writing this blog as a nice breeze flows by. Birds singing all around. I do enjoy our simple life style.

We meet some really nice people here last night. They are on their way to Savannah to see their brand new grandson that came into the world yesterday. The grandmother does crafts and she quilted her new grandson a very nice blanket with "As I lay me now to sleep " verse on it. It was quite nice and she gave me some dish clothes she made. That was so thoughtful of her. They had about 7 more hours of travel and I hope their visit will be most pleasant. There son is in the Air Force and was in Alaska before coming to Ga.

The RV park here is very nice. We are about 1/2 mile from some very nice shopping and good food! Of course Kris had to check out the Home Depot store here which is less than a mile from us. Well I did need two new hinges for the kitchen door so he had an excuse, not that he needed one.
